PLACE Performing Landscapes

PLACE Performing Landscapes is a collaborative initiative between Bethlen Theater in Hungary, Norwegian Landscape Theater and Hiatus. Together, we are developing projects in green spaces across three European cities, creating tools and networks that empower artists to engage with nature in sustainable and innovative ways.
We believe art plays a vital role in fostering deeper, more meaningful connections between people and the natural world. PLACE invites creative minds to explore, share, and expand artistic practices that connect citizens with nature.
This year, we launched an open call for artists and creatives. From the many inspiring applications, we selected 12 participants, 4 for each city, who will join us this summer for a 10-day creative camp in the countryside in northern Italy. Together, we will exchange ideas, share skills, and develop artistic proposals for urban green spaces.
By the end of the year, one project per city will be selected and brought to life. In Brussels, we aim to create an artistic intervention at Donderberg, a hidden piece of wild nature nestled in the heart of Laeken. We look forward to introducing the selected artists and their work soon.
